As part of the first German Datacenter Conference, the German Datacenter Association (GDA) awarded the Startup Prize to etalytics on 20.09.2022 – for its solutions for AI-supported analysis and optimization of cooling systems, which realize significant energy savings potential in data centers. Pumps, chillers including adiabatic systems and compressors are continuously monitored and, with the help of a digital twin and sophisticated optimization models, are always guided to the optimum operating point in the interconnected system under fluctuating environmental conditions. The result is reduced energy costs and CO2 emissions on a large scale.
The concept has already been successfully tested in a pilot project at a data center in Frankfurt. Scaling to other locations is planned in the near future.
The competition was under the patronage of Professor Kristina Sinemus, Hesse’s Minister for Digital Strategy and Development. She also handed over the prizes to the winners at a festive dinner with around 250 guests at the “German Datacenter Conference”.
The independent jury of the GDA sponsorship award consisted of Professor Peter Radgen (University of Stuttgart, Head), Inga Janović (FAZ), Jens-Peter Feidner (Equinix), Najat Messaoud (Microsoft Azure Business Group), Professor Christoph Meinel (HPI), Ulrike Ostler (DataCenter-Insider), Günter Eggers (NTT Global), Ruth Welter (Colt Technology Services) and Christian Simmendinger (HPE).
We would like to thank our pilot customer Equinix for their trust and the jury for recognizing our achievements. We look forward to supporting the data center industry with our solutions on the path to a CO2 neutral economy.
